Ok, where did I leave off......
Sunday, July 19th.....we are now in Cinncinati! We had to stay in a
hotel outside of town because no one in the convention got their rooms until that afternoon. But, we went ahead and went in on Sunday morning to see if we could get in early! :) They said that they would keep our stuff and let us know when our room was open. We needed to do this because we were on our way to the Cinncinati Reds game! By the way, the hotel was awesome! More on this later!
Well, they got us in, and we had just enough time to get our stuff upstairs. Then we were off to the game! Even though we bleed
Cardinal red, we thought it would be fun to be able to go to another ball park! It was a pretty neat park and just about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We cheered for the Reds, they won, and everybody was happy! (They were playing the
Brewers, so that was good for us,
too!)
By the way, that is a picture of Prince Fielder, winner of the Homerun Derby just the week before at the All Star Game!
That evening, we went back to the hotel, picked up our registration, and got ready for the evening's services. The convention is great because there is age appropriate classes for all ages, and my kids love them! They usually bump into other kids that they know or if you are Tucker, he said after the first night that he had 201 new buddies! We decided to go to the Youth Service with Tyler (he didn't sit with us), but we got to hear an awesome message from Jason Taylor (from Arizona) on purity. This is a picture of the crowd at the youth service. We were sitting somewhere in the middle.
Monday, July 20th......The kids and I decided to sleep in while Travis took advantage of the gym in the adjoining Carew Tower. There was really anything pressing for us this day, so we took our time, got around and met Travis and our friends for lunch. That afternoon, we chilled in the room, and our friend, James Coffelt hung out with us and we caught up on everything since the last time we saw him. We then, got ready, headed out for dinner, and went to services. After
dropping Abby and Tucker off at their class, we headed across the street to the Hyatt to hear our hometown boy, Allen Pointer speak. We were excited to have his mom and dad there with us, too. They seemed very proud of him and he did an excellent job speaking about knowing God's will.
